The survey, which provides critical insights into the current state of support systems and services for GBV and FGM survivors, will play a pivotal role in enhancing collaboration and coordination among key actors in these regions. The findings highlight the need for formal, well-structured referral pathway mechanisms to improve prevention and response to these cases effectively.

During the dissemination event, stakeholders drawn from Gender based violence Technical Working Group including; Gender department, healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and law enforcement, engaged in discussions on how to strengthen referral pathways. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that survivors have timely access to medical, legal, and psychosocial support services.

โ€œThis process is a significant step towards building a unified approach to addressing GBV and FGM in West Pokot and Elgeyo Marakwet. By ensuring a formalized, coordinated referral mechanism, we can enhance our collective response to these issues and provide better outcomes for survivors,โ€ said a representative from CEDGG.

The baseline report serves as a roadmap for improving service delivery and fostering stronger partnerships among GBV actors. It underscores the importance of a multi-sectoral approach to combating these human rights violations, ensuring that no survivor is left behind.

As the initiative progresses, CEDGG remains committed to working with stakeholders to implement actionable recommendations from the survey, paving the way for a safer and more supportive environment for women and girls in the two counties.
