Key stakeholders in the North Rift region’s athletics sector are today deliberating on the development of comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aimed at preventing and responding to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) in athletics training camps.

CEDGG, in collaboration with UNFPA, has convened a gathering of key stakeholders from the departments of gender, sports, and education at both county and national levels, alongside representatives from sports organizations, Athletics Kenya, training camp managers, coaches, athletes, and advocacy groups. The objective of this meeting is to delve into discussions aimed at identifying gaps, sharing experiences, and establishing clear protocols to foster safe and inclusive training spaces within the athletics sector in the North Rift region.
