Budget facilitator and budget champions drown across Nakuru County hosted a county level budget café forum in preparation for sector hearing for 2025/2026 financial year at the Citymax Hotel Nakuru.

Rift Valley Budget hub exists to influence budget decisions as well as provide technical support and recommendations to counties especially during budget deliberations.

The purpose of the activity was to strengthen the budget facilitators and budget champions’ capacity to engage in the budget process. The overall objective is to promote responsive budget Allocations and monitor budget implementation with ultimate goal of improving service delivery.

The budget facilitator took the participants through the stages of budget making and overall revenue performance and need to participate in the budget making process.

Other issues discussed included budget gaps in the county government of Nakuru, revenue leakages and how to reduce them.

The budget champions also discussed and gave recommendations on service delivery in the water sector and social protection.
