Centre For Enhancing Democracy and Good Governance (CEDGG) With the support from the Institute Of Economic Affairs has  today convened key stakeholders in Nakuru for a validation and engagement session on the draft Nakuru County Tax Policy.

Participants, including Boda Boda groups, small-scale traders, farmers, and landowners, are reviewing and enriching the policy to ensure coherence, inclusivity, and fairness in taxation.

The session has also brought together County Government Officials and Technical Experts to refine policy proposals and identify key actors for sustained engagement.

“Nakuru County Government will formulate a tax policy by end of 2025, the policy will be geared towards improving revenue performances while promoting the constitutional principles of equity. Certainty and ease of collection” Notes the Director of Resource mobilization Nakuru County Government during his opening remarks.

This is a crucial step towards a more transparent and equitable tax system for all.
